Open Physician Position at Vivo Cura
At Vivo Cura Health our goal is to work together to address our patients’ MSK pain so they can get back to living. Our multidisciplinary team is growing and looking to add a Physician with formal training (i.e Sports Medicine Diploma) and/or significant experience in practicing orthopedic medicine.
In our newly renovated, centrally-located clinic in Calgary, AB you will work alongside a multidisciplinary team consisting of General Practitioners, Sports Medicine Physicians, Physiatrists, and Physiotherapists. You will be able to offer continuous care to your patients via multidisciplinary assessment, rehabilitation, EMG, and image-guided diagnostic blocks and non-surgical pain interventions of the peripheral joint and spine – all available on-site.
In this role, the candidate will:
- Work alongside a physiotherapist to understand the nature of a patient’s pain in the context of identifying likely pain generators, unmet lifestyle and fitness needs and physical rehab opportunities
- Clearly communicate the proposed treatment plan to the patient provide advice aimed to promote improved health
- Provide a comprehensive report of your findings to the referring physician
- Have a routine team conferences with relevant team members to discuss questions and treatment options
- Collaborate with other physicians, allied health professionals, and support staff to determine ways to optimize the care offered at Vivo Cura Health
Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine degree (MD) and valid license to practice in Canada
- Certified with the Royal College to practice as a Sports Medicine Physician or as a specialist with formal training in orthopedic medicine (Physiatry, Pain Medicine, Orthopedics)
- Is in good standing with their current provincial college
- Strong understanding of MSK examination methodologies and diagnostics
- Broad knowledge of common medication, side effects and contraindications
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Works well in a team environment
- Respect for patient confidentiality
- Compassionate and approachable towards staff and patients
- Responsible and trustworthy
- Experience with MSK ultrasound and guided injections an advantage
