Founded in 1985, our organization represents doctors (MD’s and DO’s) who have a special interest in the practice of Orthopaedic Medicine. We would like to see it gain broader acceptance in conventional medical circles, and be more widely available to the public.

To encourage teaching of orthopaedic medicine in medical school, undergraduate and postgraduate curricula.

Temporomandibular Dysfunction Treated With Prolotherapy

Dr. Francois Louw, a physician from the Department of Family Practice at the university of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada, advances the body of knowledge in the treatment of temporomandibular dysfunction in his article appearing in the May 2019 issue of Mayo Clinic Proceedings, where he found that using a simple and inexpensive alternative treatment with an intraarticular injection of dextrose reduced pain and increased mobility in this hard-to-treat patient population.
